Getting Close.......

So its been a while since I've posted anything so I thought I'd do an update.
Firstly we are about 2 weeks behind & should've been in the house...grrrr!
The main reason for this is we got broken into at the start of June & the lowlifes stole all power points, light switches & exhaust fans & smashed a double glazed window. They couldn't get certificate of occupancy till window was fixed. The window got fixed last Monday but there are a lot of issues that have to still be rectified & should've been picked up by now by our SS.
Crushed rock put around to help with the mud.
We had an unofficial NHP to get ahead & fix all issues a few weeks back but with the power cut due to the break in I think it was pointless as you couldn't see anything. So last Friday24th we had our official NHP & we picked up a lot of stuff, one of our biggest challenges is the render...it keeps bubbling & falling off.

They will not handover till all we stated on Friday is fixed, I asked can't we have handover & those things get fixed when we move in? they said it's their policy to get all the defects fixed. I think it's so wrong.  This means we still wont be in our house till start of July now.
I am getting very stressed as its so close to us settling our current home & I stressed this to them but they really don't care that you could be living on the street.
Our SS said well that's why we don't give a date, well I already allowed 4 weeks extra for issues & they did say mid June at the latest if not earlier.
Powder Room
A lot of painting needs to be fixed especially after they refitted the correct splash back.
We spotted the powder room door has a chip in the glass so who knows how long that will take... the list goes on.

We have another NHP this Thurs so we'll see where we are at Our SS said 95% of the issues will be done.
But it is looking good & I'm happy with all the colours we chose. I will just be glad when this is all over.
We are also still waiting on spa approvals & permits.

Furniture Shopping...

This is my favourite time...buying new furniture. We have nearly sold all our old furniture, got 1 lounge to go.
We bought last weekend a dining set from Nick Scali they had 1/2 price promotion & we got 4 dining chairs, but I will also buy different 2 extra industrial chairs to add to it. A few weekends before that we bought lounge from Focus on Furniture.
Here are a few photos....

Our occasional chair

Concrete Dining with another style chair

2 xtra to match dining
We bought 2 & 3 seater called 'Enterprise'
Our King Bed Suite made in Italy from Beds & Dreams 'Tivoli'
So this is some of the furniture we've chosen still  a little to go, it is quite hard choosing it when you've forgotten what everything else looks like eg: floors/carpets
Hope it all looks good.

SwimSpa....

So we have been organising a lot lately for the swimspa & believe me there is a lot involved.
Thank God we have a Project Manager, Ian who has done a lot of the work & getting the tradies organised.
The crane alone looks like it will cost $10,000...WOW

Our Swim Spa

Dual Zone
So at the moment we can't do anything on site till after handover, all the plans 7 permits are done we just have to get dispensation from our neighbours....not for the spa but to put decking all the way to the fence at ground level. NEVER heard of anything so stupid in my life the spa should be more of a concern than the decking as it will be a little above the ground.
Can't believe all that is involved in doing this spa & it's been a headache ever since but hopefully we will enjoy it later.

Curtains chosen...tick

Did all our curtains & blinds & they have been & measured also.
We have ordered eyelets & blockout blinds sheer. Some rooms we did the dual blinds.
We decided on getting motorised blinds for 4 rooms...wow how classy, it'll be like living in a 5⭐️ Hotel.

Sample of blinds & colour is silver

Locked Out....

Well we are now finally at lock up stage & so far all colours look good & everything goes together.
Kitchen is in & looks good except for all the scratches but they will have to replace if it is scratched thru the plastic.
All the doors inside look great.
They say they are on track but we'll see what happens.
We have had a few issues & just can't believe what they accept, & then they tell us there is tolerance. Well I'm sure if it was a display or their house they would have no tolerance.
Our site supervisor just up & left this week so no-one bothered to tell us we actually found from a third party...real good!!!
We don't 1 spare brick or roof tile left over & the new site supervisor said they don't leave anything on site they take it away, I said well we paid for those bricks & tiles & he reckons that you don't actually pay for all that is delivered you only pay for what is used as they work it out...yeah right.
these people treat us like we are stupid or something, yet our neighbour a few doors down building with the same builder has spare roof tiles in her garage!!!

So anyway we will see what happens as our old SS had promised us a lot of things & now it's going to be hard with this new guy.
It's just such a stressful time trying to organise everything & all the running around.

Prep for the Slab

Site scrape started on the 18th Jan...woo hoo!!!
We also had about 20 piers put in for the reinforcement for the slab.
They also started the electrical on Thursday 21st.
They expect to pour the slab 4th February...it's really happening now.
